PR & Marketing Guru
Amanda Wood specializes in building relationships with people across organizations and businesses. Through her business experiences, personal endeavors and philanthropic desires, Amanda decided to become a business owner in late 2015 and created Avail Marketing, LLC.
Amanda strategically works with clients to create or further develop their marketing efforts to increase sales opportunities. Her clients range from startups to large corporations. Whether big or small, Amanda wants all of her clients to feel as though she is an extension of their team and business.
She gained experience working in the corporate world, although it varied greatly. From a global conglomerate oil and gas company to small digital marketing agencies to even smaller public relations firms, Amanda was trained in graphic design, brand management and client relations. Throughout it all, she learned that it didn’t matter the size of the business. Each business had its own unique story that was told over and over again to its customers. At the end of the day, it is that story that gets the handshake and a deal.
Amanda believes every person and business has a story, and those who carefully craft that story into branded messages will be successful.
With a desire to give back to her community, Amanda dedicates herself to several, local nonprofit organizations. Some of these nonprofits include American Heart Association, Canopy at Memorial Hermann hospital, The Woodlands Republican Women as well as Montgomery County Association of Business Women (MCABW). She also serves on the board for Montgomery County Women’s Council of Organizations (MCWCO) that holds its annual Women of Distinction luncheon.
Amanda, a native Texan, grew up in Kingwood and lived there throughout her years of commuting to the University of Houston where she graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Communication - Public Relations / Advertising from the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication. Later in 2010, she and her family decided to move to The Woodlands where she currently resides with her teenage daughter and husband in The Woodlands.
The definition of avail is “to be of use or value,” which is why Amanda chose that specific name for her company. She describes her business as her second baby, and she describes the process of naming it almost as difficult as it was to name her daughter, Alexis.
